Installing a solar system is one of the best investments you can make for your home or business. But with so many technical terms and options, it can feel overwhelming. This guide breaks down the main components of a solar system in plain language, so you can make an informed decision.

1. Solar Panels (PV Modules)

Solar panels are the most visible part of any solar system. They convert sunlight into direct current (DC) electricity. The most common type in Uganda is the monocrystalline panel, which offers the highest efficiency (18–22%) and longest lifespan (25+ years). 2. Solar Inverter

5. Wiring, Breakers & Earthing

Professional-grade DC and AC wiring, circuit breakers, and earthing are critical for safety and system longevity. Always insist on a certified installer who follows Uganda Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) standards.
